LarryBoy and the Bad Apple is the 44th episode in the VeggieTales animated series, and the third installment of the LarryBoy adventures. It was released in July 29, 2006 by Word Entertainment on DVD, and this is the first episode which is not released on VHS after Sheerluck Holmes. This was the first VeggieTales (or LarryBoy) episode to be released on DVD format. Subtitled "A Lesson in Fighting Temptation", it emphasizes that people cannot fight temptation alone; instead they should draw on the support of others (family, friends, and God) to help us.
Unlike earlier LarryBoy videos that dealt with obious evils (lying and rumors), this episode focuses on a more ambigious problem: while the things that tempt us are not necessairly evil themselves, allowing them to dominate our lives can be problematic and disruptives.
While all LarryBoy episodes have always drawn on elements of the Batman series, this one is a more overt parody than the others. Some elements, sound effects, and images have been borrowed from the source nearly inact.
LarryBoy joins Bob and Archibald on the countertop. He and LarryBoy have recieved a text message concerning Libby's struggles with the temptation to play video games all day. Pushing the "frail helpless" tomato out of the way, the present the story of "LarryBoy and the Bad Apple".
LarryBoy and the Bad AppleEdit
Something more ambigous than the first two LarryBoy videos. Someone called the Bad Apple seeks to rule Bumblyburg by making Petunia, Mayor Blueberry, and LarryBoy (as well as Alfred) victims of temptation of respectively: vanity, games, chocolate, and TV. And seeks to put all of Bumblyburg under her power of temptation. Until everyone who was already trapped by their temptation is too strong for one to handle, they need the help of others around them. Then defeat the Bad Apple and her temptation
The lessons learned and reviewed on the countertop: that giving into temptation prevents us from being the people God wants us to be; and that we can't alway fight temptation alone. As the show wraps up, Bob makes an unexpected appearence as "The Red Wonder".
