Esther — the Girl Who Became Queen is the 14th episode in the VeggieTales animated series and was released on September 30, 2000 by Everland Entertainment on VHS, September 30, 2000 by Lyrick Studios on VHS, January 9, 2001 by Lyrick Studios on VHS, February 5, 2001 by Lyrick Studios on VHS, September 30, 2002 on DVD and VHS by Warner Home Video, August 5, 2003 on DVD and VHS by Warner Home Video, February 10, 2004 on DVD and VHS by Warner Home Video, and November 7, 2006 on DVD by Sony Wonder. Subtitled "A Lesson in Courage", it conveys the message that you do not need to be afraid to do what is right.

The story is taken from the Book of Esther in the Old Testament, in which Esther becomes Queen and must tell Mr. Nezzer as King Xerxes that his prime minister Mr. Lunt as Haman is plotting to commit genocide against the Jews. The violent undertones are, of course, removed for this production; murder is replaced by banishment to the "Island of Perpetual Tickling", and the intended victims are limited to Esther and her family without reference to their race or their creed.

This is one of a few episodes that don't follow the usual VeggieTales format: there aren't any opening or closing countertop sequence with the VeggieTales theme and "What We Have Learned" songs, or Silly Songs with Larry. The video features the only appearance of the Esther character, who was expensive to render, due to the complexity of her hair, and the character hasn't returned. This is also the only episode to date that's narrated by a human (in voice-over mode) (credited as Eric Metaxas) and is the only video to date where neither Bob nor Junior Asparagus appear.

A VeggieTales version of Queen Esther and her struggle to save her people from being sent to the Island of Perpetual Tickling (IPT) by her husband of the king.
